Erm, this one kinda snuck up on me, Rayman style. It looks excellent - is anybody else interested in it? I know it's an RPG, which will cut the audience here somewhat, but it sounds a bit more arcadey, which may widen appeal. Anyone else seen much about it?

I've seen this about it. Online Pass for a game with no online!

I can see the guy's point about getting people to buy it new, and - to an extent - that seems fair enough. But what about the people who don't have internet access, or (and I'm guessing there are some) don't want to create a PSN account for whatever reason?

Turns out it's actually "Amalur", not Amular as I'd originally posted.

It's also awesome.

I'm clearly a biased RPG addict, but it's a brilliant game. It's not up there with Skyrim and Dark Souls (on first impressions), but it could still be pretty special. More of a focus on combat fun than the RPG world as a whole - it'll be interesting to see how it goes.

Busy bit of the year again too - FFXIII-2, Kingdoms of Amalur, Mass Effect 3 and SSX... Somewhere in there should be Trine 2 and Journey on the store.

As a biased RPG addict, this is definitely on my radar at some stage. I find the whole online pass thing a little silly but it's their way of trying to get more sales from a new release and I think all games will start doing this very soon. Crazy, when the game has no online play though.

I don't often buy games used, so I didn't really think much about it. That said, it is annoying having to be so cautious with used titles. I bought LA Noire used at Xmas, and am fairly confident that it's good to go, but it's always a niggling doubt, no matter how offline the game appears.
