Mass Effect 3 OMG!

Okay, we're all going to have to be careful about spoilers here (acknowledging that "all" may just be me), but still:

I am, I think, over half way through the game, and it is absolutely stunning. Brilliant in every way, with (so far) a perfectly pitched difficulty on Insanity. There were a few learning curve moments early on, but I think the game and I have reached an equilibrium for now.

On to the spoiler bits, marked in spoiler tags below, with a general hint above to indicate where in the story I'm talking about:

Krogan onboard?
I helped get the Krogan onboard, partly because it seemed like a good idea, and partly because the Turians wanted it. I cured the Genofage, and warned Mordin and the Krogans about the Salarian sabotate. This meant Mordin died, in an absolutely heroic moment. Did anybody try anything else? Does Mordin always die?

Also, I thought Grunt was gone too, but amazingly he made it out of the Rachni cave - they're pretty cool, and I'm glad I saved them previously! Woop!

Geth alert?

My favourite Mass Effect character (Tali, just ahead of Garrus) is now onboard too, and that led to immediate rekindling of paramour amazingness. Almost as importantly, there was a superb mission with Legion and the Dreadnought, but I'm concerned about my actions afterwards. A badmiral launches an attack on the disabled dreadnought, which was just plain stoopid when he should have helped evacuate. Afterwards, I got carried away with Renegade R1 and jabbed the guy fairly close to the nads. Consequences...?

Anyway, that's as far as I've got, and it's already shaping up to be one of my all-time favourite games. I called Mass Effect 2 as my game of the year last year back in February, and was right despite Skyrim and Dark Souls running it incredibly close (both brilliant). I suspect I might do the same for Mass Effect 3 this year, albeit a couple of months later this time.

Anyone else feeling the incredible? Five others on my friends list have been playing this a lot, though I'm not sure many/any post here. Anyone playing secretly?

Amazing, but wow do I need to talk about the ending. Since seeing my chosen ending, I've researched other possibilities, looked into the patch that's due this summer, and wondered...

Spoilers:

Holy hell do I want more closure in this. The amazing relationship between Shepard and Tali, the awesome friendship with Garrus and Liara, saving the Geth, Quarians, Krogan and more... what happens to all of that? I genuinely feel upset when endings leave things so broken apart. The galaxy split into pockets with no mass effect relays - where's Hackett's fleet? What of the aliens near Earth at the end? If I go for an ending with Shepard surviving, can he settle down with Tali? What was the point of any of it, of saving anyone, if all we see is Joker and a few others getting off the ship at the end? More needed! Bioware, save us this summer!
